Readers Page 2 :: "Alan Mitchell" - 2

I have sent two pics a 1934 Rudge Ulster this was my first bike (sorry about the quality) which I had in the 50's the other is my fathers 1926 Martinsyde a 600cc twin with overhead ex and side inlet.
I do not know if you know the history of Martinsyde it was owned by G.H. Handasyde a Edinburgh born aircraft pioneer and Martin hence Martinsyde.

These pictures came from Alan Mitchell who went on to say, ......
I was a member of the Midlothien M/C Club I campaigned an old Matchless with a home made rear suspension with a friend who had a 500 Levis with BSA forks and a home made rear end, the home made was gratis Thompson Brown Brothers where many of my friends worked. However I never could beat Lindsey King on his Norton or Ian Bell on his Bullets and of course the one from Glasgow who had the Goldstar.

C'mon now!, does this ring any bells with anybody else?
me if it does, please !!
