These two makes may seem to be not very well matched to some people, as they had an entirely different approach to Motorcycles. The Brough was a big, and heavy,1000 cc. air cooled V.Twin. The Scott on the other hand, was a light, water cooled parallel Twin Two Stroke of either 500cc. or 600cc. The two types of engines gave
a totally different ride, but both bikes were very much a match for each other
in the late 1920's to early 1930's. |

I have been lucky enough to have ridden good examples of each make that we had during the 1950 / 60's, and can back up Dad's opinion about this. The two bikes were, a 1930 Sprint Special Scott and a 1936 SS100 Brough-Superior. You will find more about these bikes in the site....and others as well ! |
