Memories 4

This is me. I did more road miles on this 600cc. Norton Dominator than any other road bike I had.
Had this while I was in the Army for 2 years 1957/58. It was my means of transport to get home at weekends. Left camp at 6pm Friday night, and had to be back in camp by 6am. Monday ..round trip of 800 Miles, summer and winter. I was not as fat as I look, all the padding to keep the cold out ! The Norton was the best handling bike I ever had, due to the 'Featherbed' frame fitted. It finally blew up on the road home one day, and was sold as was.

The next one is a shot of my 1955 350cc BSA Gold Star 'Clubmans'. I had this about 1955/56 and intended to do some road racing on it. A big accident on it put paid to that I'm afraid, and when I had recovered I had to go into the Army to do my National Service. It is fitted with road Bars and lights here, as it was not too comfortable to do many road miles with the clip-on bars fitted. Other than this it was in full Race trim as it had been raced in the Isle of Man Clubmans Race.

You just cannot beat a really BIG twin! YES we did have a Vincent, almost as good as a Brough !!
The Vincent went to Australia.

Had this 1958 BMW for a short time, found it a bit soft.
