'Lawrence of Arabia'

{T.E.Lawrence}

'Clouds Hill' Moreton, near Bovington camp, Wareham in Dorset.
somewhere that you must visit.

T.E.Lawrence first came to 'Clouds Hill' in 1923, and lived there off and on until 1935, when he retired, and came to live on a permanent basis. He had by now purchased the place, and made many alterations to what had been a derelict cottage.

He was killed in a crash on his Brough not far from here, in an accident which only added to the mysterious parts of his life.

Clouds Hill' is now owned by the National Trust, it is a place that you must visit, the atmosphere inside is 'MAGICAL'. It is just as it was left by Lawrence in 1935.

This photo of his effigy was taken by me when I was last at the little church not far from 'Clouds Hill'

There are a great many books about Lawrence available, and recently a T.V. series about him. If you have not read about his exploits as 'Lawrence of Arabia', you have missed a great story. See also Readers Page 2
If you can get a copy, you should read 'Lawrence the Rebel' by Edward Robinson.
Published in 1946, by Lincolns- Prager (Publishers) Ltd. of London.
