Corstorphine & District M.C.C.
I have put these photographs in to show the way Motorcycle Clubs were in the 1920 / 30's
.
Many
more people used M/cycles as a means of transport and sport than today, because
Cars were not so available..
Can you imagine this is a Prizegiving for a Motorcycle Club?
This dates from 1935, and must be an anniversary of the club, as the Large iced cake in front has the C&D logo on it.
Dad is on the extreme left.
If you look closely you will see the 'Eagle Trophy' mentioned later.
...
Equally,
can this really be a Motorcycle club dance?
Mum & Dad are front row, 2nd and 3rd from left.
Pot hunting again !!
Actually, even in the 1950's at our own Club,
'Lanarkshire M.C.C. Club'
it was customary to wear dinner suits to club dances, but it was on the way
out.
