More Brough-Superior Photographs
I do not know how Dad got hold of these photographs, I think he must have got them from the owners of the bikes around 1960/64. They have been in our album for many years, but thought you might like to see them.

TO 1531 is a 1924 SS80. It was owned by Rev. Michael Staines from 1956 to 1985, so this would be taken in that period.

The Rev. Michael Staines was a Founder Member of the Brough-Superior Club.

I understand the bike has been 're-restored' so this must be an early Photo.

BUS 749 is a 1938 SS80 Brough-Superior, supplied by Alexanders of Glasgow..the only other Brough Dealer in Scotland. By 1970 it was sold to America and was last heard of in Colorado in 1996. Anybody know of it?
I would like to thank Mike Leatherdale of the B.S.Club for his assistance in getting details of many of the Brough's pictured. The B.S Club has marvellous records of all Bikes ever made.

WS 7668 is a bit of a mystery, the photo was taken in the backyard of my Grandparents home, and is a shot of a 1936 registered Brough SS80, supplied by Rossleigh. The people were good friends of my parents, but I do not know if they owned this machine at the time.

My father declared to the B.S.Club in 1964 that he owned the frame of this bike (M8/1567). The engine of this Brough was put into a 1935 SS80 in the 1960's (BWB 902).

I am told that some other parts of this bike are also known.

This 1938 SS80 is in the Museum of Transport in Glasgow. It is a one owner machine, sold by Alexanders of Glasgow in 1939. The owner ran it with sidecar attached until 1960 when it was donated to the museum. Always seems such a shame to see them just sitting there. If you are ever in Glasgow, the Museum is worth a visit, lots of bikes and cars.
