Albert Wallis
Brough-Superior Engineer
With his 1932 Austin 7 Engined Brough-Superior outfit.Only 10 of these were sold.
Water cooled engine; 4 forward and Reverse gears; Twin rear wheels; Self-starter.
Albert restored this from near scrap to it's present condition.
My father corresponded quite a bit with Albert, but the only letter I now have from him, is one dated
2/10/66 in which he writes,"Dear Jimmy, the transverse twin is now finished and please find enclosed
a couple of photos to prove it! Without your assistance I should never have had this pleasure and
I thank you once again for all the help and assistance you gave me"
Albert also has the remains of the only 1927 Brough-Superior V4 ever made. He bought it directly from George Brough himself ..after much haggling!! It was not in running order , as it had lain for many years.
Sadly, Albert Wallis died on 11th.August 1999.
